About Marty McIntyre, Owner and Guide

Over the span of three decades, Marty McIntyre has been bowfishing and is an accomplished bowfishing guide on many species of fish. Throughout his past service with the US Army and other adventures, McIntyre has been all over the US and overseas to many different bodies of water, even Iraq! He has been a member of the United Bowhunters of Kentucky and currently holds active memberships in the Hood Bowhunters (Fort Hood, TX), the Texas Bowfishing Association, the Bowfishing Association of America and Legacy Outfitters, now that he resides in Central Texas. Marty also a Pro Staff member of Bowfisher Magazine and AMS Bowfishing.

In 2010, McIntyre was invited to the Texas Game Warden Academy to introduce the new Texas Game Wardens to bowfishing and invasive fish identification and invited to return again in 2011. He is also active in local and out-of-state bowfishing tournaments, most recently ranking in the top 3 in the Possum Kingdom Lake (PK) Tournament. Marty enjoys guiding trips for experienced groups as well as introducing men, women, and families to the great sport of bowfishing!

Ivy the "Gar Dog"

Ivy "The Gar Dog" goes along on many bowfishing adventures with Marty as his trusty K-9 assistant. She has a huge heart and loves being around people as well as sport of bowfishing! She will usually hold any fish that comes on board in an effort to help clients get their arrow out of the fish so they can get right back to the bowfishing action on the water ! What a dog! Ivy loves Gar, Carp, Buffalo, and many other species and she is a great asset to the Garquest family!
